Award Categories & How to Nominate

Melling Community Awards
Once a year the community of Melling has a special opportunity to come together and celebrate the outstanding contributions made to life in our village through the hard work and dedication of individuals and groups. Melling Parish Council invites you to nominate anyone who you feel deserves to be recognised for their contributions in the following categories. The awards are presented in an awards ceremony to which everyone is invited to thank these unsung heroes who make a real difference. The date of the next awards ceremony will be publicised on this website.
Individual Award (18 and over)
We invite nominations for individuals who make a real difference to others. This can be anything from doing a good deed for a neighbour, volunteering or going that extra mile to make someone smile!
Young Persons Award (up to and including the age of 17)
We invite nominations for young people within the community who is an outstanding role model for their peers through their excellent citizenship.
Community Group Award
We invite nominations for community groups who enhance life in the village, whether it is by making Melling bright and beautiful, offering support and friendship or providing some good old fashioned fun.

*Nominations cannot be accepted for commercial enterprises or for Councillors. can make a nomination, except that nominees cannot nominate themselves or be nominated by close relatives.
