Grants and Donations

Grants

The Parish Council is able to provide small grants to local voluntary organisations for start ups and urgently needed items.

Grants that the Parish Council have awarded include:

  • Start up grants for The Pensioner’s Club and Melling in Bloom
  • A grant toward the replacement of the boiler in St Thomas Church
  • A grant towards replacement fencing at the rear of the Tithebarn
  • Grants to enable the running of local children’s football clubs
  • Grant for the purchase of new gym mats by Melling Youth Group

Donations

Melling Parish Council are also proud to have given the donations towards:

  • £100 to the Lions Club
  • £1000 towards the LL200 Canal Event
  • £100 Donation to the Alzhimers Society, the 2015 Chairs Chosen Charity
  • £50 Donation toward the Pride of Sefton canal trip as part of Melling Primary's Schools canal clean up
  • £150  donation towards smartwater kits to the Police & Crime Commissioner
  • £100 donation towards the pensioners Christmas party to MRCA
  • £100 donation towards the Baptist Christmas Celebration in aid of James Apter Friendship Fund
  • £200 donation towards new football kits for Melling Primary School
  • Christmas Hampers for the elderly in the community as nominated by local organisations
  • £40 donation to the James Apter Friendship Fund to provide toys and gifts for children at Alder Hey Hospital
  • £40 donation to Animals in Need to help towards the upkeep of the animals over the festive period

If your organisation would like to apply to the Parish Council for a grant or donation please contact the Clerk who will provide advice and an application form.
